Dear Regis community,

I am deeply concerned about the decision to end Temporary Protected Status for some 59,000 Haitians who have been in the U.S. since the 2010 earthquake. Haiti, the poorest country in our hemisphere, is still fighting to recover from that earthquake as I have seen first-hand during my many trips for the Regis Haiti Project. I call on the Trump Administration to reconsider this decision which requires Haitians in the U.S. under Temporary Protected Status to leave the U.S. by July 2019. I know members of the Regis community are affected by this decision and may need support. Please know we are here for you and praying for your families. You can find our community resources for those with immigration concerns here.

My best wishes to you and your loved ones for a peaceful Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Antoinette M. Hays, PhD, RN
