Dear Regis community,
Commencement is an important and joyful event for Regis College. It is when our graduates, and those who love and support them, can celebrate the culmination of years of hard work and perseverance.
For the Classes of 2020 and 2021, who completed their degrees during an unprecedented public health crisis, it is imperative we show them how proud we are of their incredible accomplishments. And the Regis community will do that on Saturday, May 8, with two separate virtual commencement ceremonies.
While the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines gives us hope the end of the pandemic is near, it has become apparent we will still not be able to safely hold large, in-person gatherings this spring.
We will share more information about these dynamic and immersive events in the coming months with our graduates and their loved ones. I can assure you each ceremony will encompass the energy and celebration of a Regis commencement.
I know this news is disappointing for some. Please know the decision was not made lightly. The health and safety of the entire Regis community remains my utmost priority. Although we will not be physically together in May, the faculty, staff, and I cannot wait to applaud our graduates for their resiliency and achievement in the face of incomprehensible challenges.
I am proud of you and look forward to celebrating with you.
Sincerely,
Antoinette M. Hays, PhD, RN
President, Regis College
