The following is a statement from Regis College President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN, on the passing of Paul Farmer:
I, and the entire Regis College community, are heartbroken by the devastating news of Paul Farmer’s passing.
A titan in the global health and social justice fields, Paul, through Partners In Health, set the standard for bringing high-quality health care to the world’s poorest communities where it is needed the most.
Paul was a true friend of mine and Regis. He advocated for Regis nurses who worked to improve nursing education in Haiti. He dedicated his life to the betterment of all people. As an honorary degree recipient, he will always be in the heart of the Regis community.
Thank you, Paul for your life of inspiration and love. You will be missed by all. God bless.
