Regis College and Roxbury Community College (RCC) this morning formalized a partnership agreement on joint admission that is designed to expand access to affordable bachelor’s degree pathways for community college students in Massachusetts.

The partnership creates a seamless transfer process for Roxbury students who earn an associate degree and wish to continue their education at Regis, a university known for its commitment to student success, social mobility, and service-based leadership. Under the agreement, students who opt in when applying to Roxbury will also receive conditional admission to Regis, ensuring a clear and supportive pathway toward completing a bachelor’s degree.

“At a time when many are questioning the value of a college degree, we know that higher education is truly transformational,” said Regis College President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN. “It’s reflected in the missions of both of our institutions that call for an unwavering commitment to expanding access and preparing students to lead and serve. Together, we’re creating a student journey that begins at Roxbury and continues at Regis that leads to a bachelor’s degree and, for many, to graduate study. This collaboration is a commitment to open doors for those who thought college was out of reach.”

“RCC is proud to partner with Regis College to expand our robust portfolio of transfer programs,” said RCC President, Dr. Jonathan K. Jefferson. “RCC and Regis share the same commitment to providing economic mobility through no- or low-cost opportunities to earn a bachelor’s, positioning graduates for higher earnings and long-term success. This partnership provides RCC graduates with a strong pathway to expediently earn a degree from an esteemed institution.”

The agreement also provides Roxbury graduates who achieve a minimum GPA with guaranteed admission to Regis, and includes enhanced advising, waived application fees, and opportunities for scholarships and financial aid.

Regis will host regular on-site advising and information sessions at Roxbury, offering guidance on transfer requirements, academic planning, and financial aid. Students, alumni, faculty, and staff of Roxbury will also benefit from a 10% partnership tuition discount for bachelor’s degree completion and select graduate programs.

The partnership also reinforces both institutions' shared commitment to addressing workforce needs in the Commonwealth. Massachusetts continues to face critical shortages of nurses, teachers, and other essential professionals. By creating streamlined academic pathways and reducing financial and procedural barriers, Regis and Roxbury aim to strengthen the talent pipeline for high-demand sectors across the state.

The agreement reflects a growing emphasis among higher education institutions to create intentional, equitable pathways for students to achieve academic and professional success.
