With a 10:1 child-to-teacher ratio, the kindergarten classroom at Regis ensures that each child has a personalized, hands-on experience. Many of the programs used in public and private schools are incorporated directly into our classrooms to ensure that children are already familiar with and well prepared for the next steps in their educational journey.
Our mixed age, 3–4-year-olds, nature-forward classroom spends at minimum half of their day outdoors. Children are expected to attend a minimum of 4 days per week until 2pm each day to be able to take part in all this program has to offer. They utilize our nature-based playground and all aspects of the campus to explore, develop resiliency, observe, experiment, and foster good stewardship to nature. Motor skills, including coordination, self-advocacy, and a growth mindset are some of the focus areas for this classroom. You can find this group at our campus Magic Tree reading books, building a village on the trails, or enjoying a hike around the Norman Tour every day of the week.
Our Pre-Kindergarten children spend their day focused on academics, outdoors, investigating, and collaborating as part of a larger community. We are focused on teaching children the skills needed in society. Parking lot safety is addressed as children walk throughout campus, global citizenship is developed as the children meet and interact with a diverse group of people, and gratitude for others and mindfulness is nurtured throughout each experience.
