Insight Into Academia Magazine has recognized Regis College with the 2026 Higher Education Excellence and Distinction (HEED) Award. The national honor recognizes U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to academic excellence, belonging, and community-building across all levels of campus life.  

This marks the sixth time Regis has received the HEED Award, reflecting the University’s ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive and academically vibrant campus community.  

"The Higher Education Excellence and Distinction Award is a meaningful affirmation of Regis’ tireless commitment to inclusive excellence and our mission to love and care for the dear neighbor without distinction,” said Vice President of Inclusive Excellence Michael McCorvey. “This award is a recognition of the community that makes it possible. We are purposeful in creating a campus where every individual has the opportunity to succeed and a true sense of belonging to our community. Our work in advancing inclusive pathways for students, faculty, and staff is central to who we are as an institution.” 

Regis’ commitment to inclusive excellence is reflected in programs that help students build connections and succeed academically. Organizations like Partners in Excellence (PIE), which connects first-year students of color and first-generation students with trained peer, faculty, staff, and graduate mentors support Regis’ student community, and First Year Experience guides new students through the transition to college life, connecting them with faculty and advisors along the way. 

That commitment extends beyond Regis’ Weston campus with events like Founders’ Day, a day of volunteering at dozens of organizations and service sites throughout Greater Boston for faculty, staff, and students and service-immersion experiences that connect academic learning with community engagement. These include a Civil Rights Pilgrimage co-founded by the Center for Inclusive Excellence, the Humanities Department, and the Center for Ministry and Service.
