Regis College students and university leadership took part in a robust discussion Tuesday night during WBZ NewsRadio’s "Talk the Vote" special about the upcoming election and the state of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hosted by Dan Rea, Talk the Vote brings together experts to help inform listeners on the most pressing issues leading up to an election. While this series is typically held on college campuses in Massachusetts, including at Regis College in 2016, this year’s event was held virtually.

Regis College President Antoinette Hays spoke with Rea about the sacrifices of the health care providers on the front lines battling COVID-19, including Regis College nursing and health sciences students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Laura Burke, dean of the School of Health Sciences, appeared on the show for an hour offering her recommendations and expertise on the pandemic, stressing the importance of mask wearing and continued safety protocols.

U.S. Rep Seth Moulton, D-MA, kicked off the event and covered topics including the White House’s and Senate’s response to the pandemic, as well has the Trump Administration’s Middle East policy. The congressman also answered questions from Regis College first-year nursing student Chloe Beland on the electoral college, and senior psychology student Mitchell Weiner on voting advice.
