Hannah C. Bradley Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Hannah C. Bradley Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1994 by Jacalyn C. Egan, who identified the fact that non-traditional students pursuing an undergraduate degree face unique obstacles.
Students today face many challenges: familial loss, culture shock, juggling the demands of home, family, childcare, and employment. All of these factors, coupled with a full class schedule, can be daunting. In addition, the financial restrictions and needs of undergraduate, non-traditional and or international students are defined by their unique set of circumstances. The permanently endowed Hannah C. Bradley Endowed Scholarship Fund makes awards to non-traditional undergraduate students facing unique obstacles.

Scholarships by Nomination
-
Goldwater Scholarship; deadline January 15 (annually)
- Review the Goldwater Eligibility Requirements. The Goldwater Scholarship is limited to specific fields of study in the sciences.
The application portal opens in mid-September, and nominations and all materials are submitted in January, annually. - Find your institution’s Goldwater Campus Representative (CR).
Every (participating) college/university has a Campus Representative (CR) who acts as the liaison with the Goldwater Foundation. Reach out if you have questions before you apply or during the application process. - Submit a Student Profile and Pre-Application via the Goldwater portal.
The very first step is filling out a “pre-application” (sometimes called a “student profile”) in the Goldwater Scholarship’s online system. This pre-application is not your final nomination — it’s a way to express interest, gather preliminary information (e.g. potential recommenders, research experience, background), and initiate contact with your CR. Once submitted, your CR will receive your pre-application and begin coordinating with you.
At Regis College, your CR will refer you to faculty members who will work with you on the next steps in the process. If your CR receives more student profiles than the maximum number of nominations allowed, a committee of at least three faculty members will determine which nominations to move forward. - Work with your faculty members and refine your full application.
After your pre-application is reviewed, you'll get access to the full application in the portal. See Step Four for an overview of the full application. Briefly, this includes:- An online questionnaire (academic record, coursework, etc.). You can download this to review, but it will be submitted online.
- A detailed research essay.
- A short narrative about your career goals and professional aspirations
- Official transcripts (also used to compute your GPA)
- Three letters of recommendation, typically from research mentors or faculty who know your work. Once you have selected the mentors/faculty to write for you, in consultation with your faculty, reach out to them with an information packet and ask them to write for you. Once they agree, send their names and contact information to your CR who will contact them directly and collect the letters on your behalf to submit with your application.
- For permanent residents, a copy of your Green Card or proof of status
- Campus nomination and CR submission to Goldwater.
Because Goldwater requires that candidates be nominated by their institution, you cannot just submit independently. Your CR (or an appointed institutional office) will collect all nominated candidates’ materials no later than January 15 and then submit the final nomination packet via the Goldwater portal by the national deadline (last Friday in January).
Key Links and Portal Info
- The Goldwater application portal is hosted on ScholarsApply
- Your CR uses a separate CR portal to upload materials.
