Application and Admission Processing Tips

In order to expedite application completion and admission processing, please follow the criteria below:

  • Submit application documents electronically
  • We will use unofficial transcripts to review and make decisions 1
  • Use of credit cards is best to submit deposits (or any other payments)
  • Communication is best directed to your counselor through email
  1.  If accepted, official transcripts will still be required as a contingency of acceptance

Transfer of Credit/Advanced Placement/Experiential Learning

Transfer of credit from another approved institution of higher learning will be allowed if it is for graduate work done within five years prior to enrolling in Regis and the grade received for the work is not less than B-. In general, no more than two courses may be transferred. Only those courses will be accepted that correlate with standards for the particular component of the program in which the student is enrolled. Students applying for transfer credit are required to submit to the appropriate graduate program director a transcript and a syllabus or a detailed course description of those courses for which they are requesting transfer credit.

Admission Requirements for Specific Programs

  • Master's Nursing Programs for Nurses

    The Master of Science in Nursing is designed for students with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. All NP students are encouraged to start in the fall semester. Spring starts are possible but will require consultation with the program director.

    1. Completed application via the online application portal
    2. Official transcripts from every institution attended including undergraduate degree, transfer credits (both undergraduate and graduate) and prerequisites courses
    3. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0
    4. Completed prerequisite statistics course
    5. Resume
    6. Statement of Purpose
    7. Two letters of recommendation
    8. Interview
    9. A history of an unencumbered registered nurse license is required

    Please note that the GRE is not required for the Master of Science in Nursing programs.

    Two graduate courses from the following four courses may be taken at Regis prior to applying and/or being accepted to the program:

    • NU 601 Nursing Theory
    • NU 605 Concepts in Nursing Leadership
    • HP 609 Health Policy, Politics, and Perspectives
    • NU 606 Advanced Pathophysiology

  • 16 and 24 month BS Nursing programs

  • Accelerated Direct Entry MSN

    Scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) are preferred but not required.

  • Accelerated BS in Medical Imaging

    1. Application and résumé. Apply Online
    2. Personal statement of 500 to 750 words:
      1. Why are you choosing to pursue a career in nuclear medicine; how have your past experiences influenced your decision and career interests?
      2. An observation of a nuclear medicine department should be completed prior to submitting your application. Please discuss this observation in your personal statement.
    3. An undergraduate and prerequisite GPA of 3.0
    4. Official transcripts indicating completion of bachelor's degree and required prerequisite courses 2
    5. Two recommendation letters from professors or colleagues
    6. A personal interview offered by invitation only
    7. A non-refundable application fee of $100
     
    1.  The admission committee may admit a student on a conditional status if all prerequisite courses have not been completed at the time of acceptance. Prerequisites must be completed prior to the beginning of the program.

    All science prerequisites for nursing and medical imaging programs must have been completed within seven years prior to program start date. Review courses or CLEP exams may be taken if courses older than seven years.

    Clinical Site Observation

  • Master of Science in Occupational Therapy

    Regis accepts applications solely through the Centralized Application System for Occupational Therapy (OTCAS) portal. Please review OTCAS for all application requirements and deadlines.

    1. Application, résumé, and personal statement
    2. Applicants must achieve at least one of the following levels for admittance:
      • Completion of a related (biology, kinesiology, athletic training) undergraduate degree from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or
      • Completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited university and a B- or better in all prerequisite courses listed below
    3. Official transcripts
    4. Two recommendation letters from professors or supervisors
    5. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is preferred but not required to apply.
    6. A personal interview
    7. A non-refundable application fee
    8. Completion of the following prerequisite courses 3 of study as part of, or in addition to, an undergraduate degree. Coursework must be from an accredited university:
      • Anatomy and Physiology with Lab - eight credits
      • Human Development (Psychology) - three credits
      • Abnormal Psychology - three credits
      • Kinesiology - three to four credits
      • Sociology - three credits
      • Statistics - three credits
      • Neuroanatomy/Neurobiology - three to four credits
     
    1.  A student who has completed a bachelor’s degree including all of the above prerequisites except one, may be granted conditional admission to the program under the stipulation that the outstanding prerequisite be successfully completed prior to beginning the program.

    The Regis OT program does not offer advanced placement or credit for experiential learning.
