Throughout the Regis community, students are using their gifts and talents, coupled with what they have learned in the classroom, to constantly amaze us with their remarkable achievements, both on and off campus. We are thrilled to feature Brieyena Joseph ‘27, in our #ThriveAtRegis series.
Joseph, from Haverhill, is a Dental Hygiene major. When she is not in the classroom or studying in her favorite spot, the library, – you can find Joseph serving as the creative director of the upcoming “Clash of Fashion” Show or working as the Treasurer for the African Student Association (ASA). “I made a promise to myself that I’m going to try to get out there as much as possible.” she said.
As a second semester first-year student, Joseph already feels the community has welcomed her with open arms. “My favorite thing here is the resources that we have, and that our professors make them known. Regis [provides] great support in executing the vision that you want. Even me being a first gen [student], everything that I am seeing here shows me what my potential future could look like.”
Joseph has ambitious plans for her future at Regis and after graduation. When asked where she sees herself in five years, she replied, “In five years, I’ll already be a dental hygienist, I think by that time, God willing, that I will be in Atlanta [GA] living my big dreams. I do want to open a travel dental hygiene agency. The biggest dream I have is that I want to create a school or some type of program or organization for black and brown students who aspire to be in the dental field.”
“Keep God first, find that structural balance in your life and make sure you are always doing something at the end of the day that is going to make you happy. And don’t care what other people think because that’s something that will throw you off track.” This advice is what Joseph lives by and encourages her peers to as well.
