For the eighth year in a row, The Women’s Edge and The Boston Globe Magazine have named Regis College to the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list recognizing the women power players driving the Massachusetts economy.
President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN, who announced her retirement in June 2026 following 15 years of leading the university, is the longest-serving current female college president in Massachusetts. During her presidency, President Hays raised nearly $90 million for the university, launched two schools, an online program, and numerous academic programs. She was named a Living Legend in Massachusetts Nursing by the American Nurses Association of Massachusetts in 2019.
“I’m deeply honored to be recognized alongside such inspiring leaders,” said President Hays. “This recognition is a testament to the mission of Regis College and our commitment to educating the whole person. We build the character and confidence of our students so they are prepared to enter the workforce with the knowledge and experiences they need to lead purposeful, impactful careers."
During President Hays’ tenure, Regis has been recognized by several independent publications for its exemplary academic programs. They include recognition by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Top 50 Regional Universities in the North and a Top University for Upward Social Mobility. In a Nurse.org students’ choice award, Regis was identified as the top nursing school in the state.
The Women’s Edge, a Boston-based nonprofit committed to advancing women in leadership, celebrates 25 years of impact this year. As part of its mission, the organization continues its tradition of recognizing exceptional businesses and nonprofits through a rigorous annual nomination process.
Now in its 13th year in partnership with The Boston Globe, the list highlights organizations not only for their revenue or operating budgets, but also for their commitment to diversity in leadership, board representation, and innovative efforts to advance equity.
