Massachusetts law requires all on-campus undergraduate students taking 9 credits or more and all on-campus graduate students taking 6.75 credits or more to either demonstrate proof of comparable health insurance coverage or purchase a Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) through their institution of higher education. Please note that students enrolled exclusively in online courses are not eligible for the program.
To ensure all Regis students are properly insured to meet the state law, all eligible students are initially charged on their student account for the annual cost of the SHIP.
Regis has partnered with University Health Plans (UHP) as our new broker to administer the enrollment and waiver process for all students.
For the 2026-2027 policy year the Regis SHIP is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA). Under this plan, students must use providers within the BCBSMA network. Students do not have to select a primary care provider and referrals are not required. The coverage period is August 19, 2026 through August 18, 2027. The health insurance premium for the annual policy is $3,473 for undergraduates and $5,621 for graduate students.

Beginning July 15, students can complete the waiver or enrollment form online The waiver/enrollment deadline is August 10, 2026.
You may waive by demonstrating proof of comparable insurance through the online system prior to the deadline. You should have your current health insurance card available as this information will be necessary to complete the form. Once your waiver is submitted, the charge will be removed from your student account.
You may also choose to activate your coverage by enrolling online.
If you do not complete either a waiver or enrollment form prior to the deadline, you will be enrolled by default and the charge will remain on your account.
