Curriculum
The Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing program is designed to prepare the student to sit for the registered nurse license examination and certification for advanced nursing practice. Students in this program must first satisfactorily complete the generalist nursing component. At the point of successful completion of the generalist component (1.5 years), the student is eligible to sit for the RN license examination and is awarded the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Students then transition into the master’s portion of the program, where they will choose one of five specialty areas:
- Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
- Family Nurse Practitioner
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
At the completion of this component (1.5 years), students will be awarded the Master of Science in Nursing and will be eligible to sit for their NP Certification exam based on specialization.

- All graduate specializations include supervised clinical experiences, with a minimum of 800 clinical hours, depending on the requirements of the chosen specialization.
Application Requirements
All applicants must apply via NCAS and submit all documents, including transcripts to NCAS for verification. NCAS Applicants cannot be reviewed by the Regis admission team until they are verified on NCAS.
- Completed application form, transcript from undergraduate degree, and all prerequisites courses
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
- Resume; statement of purpose; two letters of recommendation.
- Interview with program director may be required; interviews by invitation only

Prerequisite Requirements
The bachelor's is earned at Regis over 12 courses totaling 60 credits. Prerequisite courses may be completed at Regis or any accredited two or four-year institutions. All prerequisites must be completed prior to program start:

We strongly encourage applicants to complete four of the seven prerequisite courses (preferably the physical sciences with labs) in order to be reviewed for admission. All prerequisites must be completed with a B- or above before the start of the program.
