    About

Dr. Sheila Combs received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 2001 and has maintained a private practice since 2002, specializing in the treatment of adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Her clinical experience includes work at the Brookline Center and the Massachusetts Mental Health Center, where she conducted psychological assessments and provided services to a diverse range of clients.

Dr. Combs joined the faculty at Regis in 2011 and has since taught a variety of psychology courses. Her teaching philosophy is deeply informed by her work as a counseling psychologist. She approaches students holistically, striving to support their intellectual growth alongside their psychological well-being. She views the classroom as a collaborative space where all voices contribute to the learning experience.

In addition to her teaching and clinical work, Dr. Combs is actively involved in faculty development. She has been engaged with Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) at Regis since their launch in spring 2021. She is a member of the inaugural FLC on building an equity-minded campus and currently serves as a co-facilitator for the Wellbeing FLC.
