Regis College names Anita Brennan Bigles ’77 to Board of Trustees

WESTON, MA. Regis College has named Anita Brennan Bigles ’77 of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, to the College’s Board of Trustees. She is Senior Vice President at UBS Financial Services of Puerto Rico, Inc., and a member of its President’s Council. Prior to this position, Bigles specialized in investments at Salomon Smith Barney, E.F. Hutton, and Paine Webber.

Having majored in political science and history at Regis, Bigles brings a multicultural financial outlook and a commitment to community service to her career. She currently serves on the boards of the Colegio Puerto Riqueno de Ninas, the Fondos Unidos of Puerto Rico, and the American Building Maintenance Corporation. She is president of Hogar Santa Maria de Los Angelos and vice president of the board of directors of the Corporacion de la Difusion Publica de Puerto Rico. Since 1978 Bigles has been a member of the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, FINRA, AMEX, CBOE,and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and ARCA. She is bilingual.

“I am very pleased to be appointed to the Regis College Board of Trustees,” Bigles said, “and to have the opportunity to help shape the policies and direction of my alma mater as it grows into an excellent, co-educational and intergenerational university. As a women’s college, Regis gave me the opportunity to flourish and succeed,” she continued, “and I treasure this chance to give back to the next generations of students, both graduate and undergraduate.”

Hays, PhD, RN, “and starting close to home in the U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the expertise and insight of our alumna Anita Bigles will be invaluable as the College fulfills its promise to Anita and other Puerto Rican alums by extending its reach in our hemisphere and in the Caribbean, Brazil and Latin America.”

Vice Chair of the Regis Board, Sister Lee Hogan, CSJ, PhD, noted, “Anita Brennan Bigles is one of my former students, and I enthusiastically welcome her to the Regis Board of Trustees. She brings both a cultural and a financial acumen to our deliberations.”
