This Pride Faculty Lecture Series presentation takes a look into how environmental justice shows that environmental health disparities continue to affect people of color. Specific environmental hazards such as lead poisoning, toxic waste, and toxic emissions and their effects on marginalized communities is covered in this presentation. Lastly, environmental racism is defined, its history explained, and ideas for how to limit its spread are discussed.

Dr. Shannon Hogan is our resident virologist who teaches a variety of courses that serve students in both the STEM and nursing departments. He leads the laboratory operations management minor that focuses on student employment in both industry and academia. Recently, he was named the professor of record for Regis College’s interdisciplinary COVID-19 pandemic course.
