Dear Regis Community,

This past weekend, an act of unspeakable violence occurred in Colorado Springs that mercilessly took the lives of five and injured many others. Once again, members of the LGBTQIA+ community were targeted and are enduring loss, fear and anger.

We are also deeply troubled by the increase in recent anti-Semitic hate speech and violent incidents targeting people of the Jewish faith that are occurring throughout the country.

These acts of bigotry and violence must be condemned.

At this time of year when we pause to spend time with family and friends and give thanks for our many blessings, may we remember those who lost their lives in these violent attacks, those who were injured, and those whose lives have been forever changed by the evil of hate.

As a community that promotes equity and inclusion for all—that welcomes all without distinction and fosters peaceful resolution of conflict—let us open our hearts to love, acceptance and understanding and strive to sow that love in our hearts and minds.

Should you need support during this difficult time, please contact Counseling Services at or the Employee Assistance Program.
