Cindy holds a bachelor of arts in theatre with minors in English literature and studio art as well as a master of science in teaching from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. She also holds a master of arts in educational psychology: cognition and instruction from the University of Connecticut, where she developed a group discussion technique and conducted research on collaboration and group discussion interactions. Cindy has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in educational psychology and worked as an academic counselor for accelerated BSN students at MCPHS University. Prior to her work in higher education, Cindy taught fifth grade for several years. During this time, she developed inquiry-based history curricula and field-based science experiences for her students in collaboration with colleagues. She is currently interested in the impact of environments on learning and the development of individuals’ resilience and flexibility of mind.
