Description: An exploration of the wide range of music heard today: western, non-western, popular and classical. A study of various elements, styles, and forms of music. Includes lectures, discussion, and critical listening. The student learns what to listen for in music.

Description: Glee Club provides a congenial setting in which Regis women experience the unifying power of singing together. Singers learn basic note reading and correct singing techniques. Repertoire includes a broad range of musical styles including classical works, folk songs, spirituals, and show tunes. Activities include performance for various campus functions, including special liturgies, and exchange concerts with mens choirs. The Glee Club also makes international concert tours every two years. Brief audition required.

The Glee Club also makes international concert tours every two years, with the next one scheduled for March 2004. Highlights of 2002-2003 include Christmas Concert with orchestra, which will be televised by Boston Catholic TV, an April performance with Civic Symphony Orchestra of Boston, and production of a professional CD of repertoire performed during the year. Highlights of 2003-2004 include Christmas Concert with orchestra, the Collegiate Choral Festival, and production of a professional CD of repertoire performed during the year. Four credits toward the degree will be given at the end of four semesters of participation. Brief audition required.
Description: An advanced singing group structured for the skilled singer who also participates in Glee Club. Skills required (and refined in Chamber Singers) include: good tone production and intonation, choral blend, sight-reading, and independence in part-singing. Chamber Singers perform a variety of repertoire both on and off campus, with emphasis on a cappella skills; and learn basic handbell-ringing techniques. Audition required.
