What to bring with you to Regis College

Welcome to the Regis College residential community. We are excited that you will be joining us this year! Packing for college can be a daunting task. You can use the list below as a guide to what to bring and what to leave at home. Students must comply with the following regulations regarding what is and is not permitted in the residence halls. If you have questions about an appliance or electrical equipment, please direct your inquiries to the Office of Residence Life & Housing.

What to Bring to Campus

  • Alarm clock with battery back-up
  • Area rug
  • Bed risers (cinderblocks or other homemade loft apparatus to raise beds are not permitted)
  • Computer/laptop
  • Desk lamp
  • Egg crate and/or mattress pad
  • Fan (no larger than 12” in diameter)
  • Light bulbs (cannot exceed 100 watts in an individual fixture)
  • Masking tape and/or white posting putty
  • Pillows, pillowcases, towels, blankets, and extra long twin sheets (electric blankets are not permitted)
  • Plates, bowls, cups and utensils
  • Refrigerator (up to: 4 cubic Feet)
  • Safe for valuables
  • Storage bins (under the bed)
  • Surge protector
  • Telephone
  • Toiletries, shower caddy and shower shoes
  • TV/DVD/Blue Ray
  • Wastebasket

When packing, please keep in mind the following items are not permitted in the residence halls and please refrain from bringing

  • Air conditioners
  • Animals (flake eating fish are allowed)
  • Blenders
  • Candles and incense
  • Cinderblocks
  • Coffee pots
  • Electric blankets
  • Halogen lamps
  • Hot plates
  • Microwave ovens
  • Plants exceeding 2½ feet tall
  • Space heaters
  • Toasters
  • Lava lamps
