What is the Graduate Hooding Ceremony?

Master’s hoods are conferred at the Graduate Hooding Ceremony. The hood identifies both the College and the degree being conferred. This ceremony honors our master’s degree recipients and is an opportunity for celebration with graduates, faculty, family and friends. Hoods are then worn during the Commencement exercises.

The Graduate Hooding Ceremony will take place under the tent on the Great Lawn on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 6:30pm.

What is the Baccalaureate Ceremony?

The Baccalaureate ceremony celebrates the completion of an undergraduate academic career and is usually a time to recognize formally the achievements of students who have earned academic excellence. Hence the bestowal of awards.

Besides recognizing achievement, the Baccalaureate marks a joyous occaision for the whole community. As a Catholic college sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, Regis has always celebrated the Baccalaureate with a special liturgy in order give thanks and praise to God, to honor our spiritual legacy, and to rejoice with one another.

The Baccalaureate Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 3:00pm. Candidates for a bachelor’s degree need to report to the Casey Theatre (Fine Arts Center) no later than 2:30 p.m. sharp for directions and procession line. Wear your gown and carry the hood (no cap). We recommend wearing black shoes.

Please contact the Office of Student Affairs at 781-768-7050 if you have any questions.
