Celebrate Winter Family Day

Location: Spellman Museum

It's time once again to make snowballs, snowflakes and snowmen using postage stamps. The Museum is holding its annual Celebrate Winter Family Day on Saturday, January 26 from noon to 4:00. Children who come wearing mittens or earmuffs will receive a special stamp prize. The day coordinates with Weston's winter program on the town common starting at 10:00. The Museum's community room will have arts and crafts activities for children and adults using real stamps plus stamp games and puzzles to play and win stamp prizes. Children can create winter stamp mosaics of snowflakes, snowballs and snowmen using stamps and also design their own winter stamps to display. Everyone will get instructions about how to create personal envelopes and cards about winter to send to friends. The Museum will pay the postage. Hot cider and cookies will be served. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and $3 for children ages 5 to 16.

Chris Carter, Mentalist

Location: Casey Theatre

By great demand, we are pleased to bring back Christopher Carter! Christopher Carter is recognized as one of the world’s greatest mind-readers. But he’s not psychic. He’s simply an incredibly skilled observer of human behavior. Starting at the age of eight, when an uncle allowed him to sit in on a poker game, Christopher began to realize that people broadcast their thoughts in ways beyond words. This led to a lifelong interest in non-verbal communication and “people reading.” Christopher will randomly select a woman in the crowd and tell her what is in her purse, including the specific compartment where each item is located. Next, he is going to leave you scratching your head in amazement when he begins to reveal the detailed thoughts of dozens of people in the audience.
