REGIS COLLEGE TABS HEAD COACHES FOR LATEST MEN’S SPORT ADDITIONS
Weston, Mass.- Regis College Director of Athletics Marybeth Lamb has announced the hiring of head coaches for Men’s Tennis and Men’s Volleyball for the upcoming 2008-09 seasons. Both sports will compete at the club level for its first year, and move immediately to varsity status for the 2009-10 season. Regis, having undergone a coeducational transition in the summer of 2007, currently fields varsity men’s competition in the sports of Basketball, Swimming & Diving, and Soccer.
John Ciarleglio, III, has been tabbed as the first Head Men’s Tennis Coach. Coach Ciarleglio has most recently worked as a teaching Pro at the Longfellow Club in Wayland, Mass., since 2002. For the past four years, Ciarleglio has coached Longfellow’s men’s teams, and in 2006-07, led the Men’s C team to the championship of the Central Mass Indoor Tennis League. Coach Ciarleglio continues to play multiple times a week, and is a USPTA Certified P2.
Jason Conetta, currently the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Simmons College, has accepted the position of Head Men’s Volleyball Coach at Regis. Conetta becomes the program’s first Head Coach, and arrives after leading the Simmons women since last Fall. Conetta competed for four years with the Rivier College Volleyball program from 2002-2006, and earned New England Collegiate Volleyball Association Second Team Honors in 2002.
