Night At The Pops
On Friday, May 14, 2010, Regis College returned to Symphony Hall in Boston for our 74th Annual Regis Night at the Pops. Regis Alumni, Family, and Friends joined President Mary Jane England ’59 for a reception prior to the thrilling performance given by Conductor John Williams and the Boston Pops Orchestra. The evening’s theme was Hollywood, showcasing pieces from ET, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and, of course, Star Wars. Two standing ovations concluded the evening of star-struck appreciation and admiration. The Alumni Relations Office looks forward to our 75th Regis Night at the Pops in May 2011.
Night At Fenway
Regis College Alumni Relations Office took its first trip to Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox defeat the Oakland A’s on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 for the 7:10 p.m. game. More than 200 tickets were sold to Regis College Alumni, Staff, Faculty, Family, and Friends for a perfect summer night game. Spread among the center field bleachers, right field and home plate grandstands, the Regis attendees cheered as the granddaughter of President, Mary Jane England ’59, and daughter of young alum, Alexandra England ’09, Sara Pratt, joined the “Leaders of the Pack” to represent Regis and lead the Red Sox onto the field at the start of the game. Cheers were just as loud when David Ortiz hit a home run to right field, only rows before where the alums were sitting. The Red Sox defeated the A’s by a score of 6-4. Our first trip to Fenway was such a success that the Regis Alumni Relations Office hopes to return annually to Fenway, as it does for the Bruins and Celtics games at TD Garden!
