Diagnostic Medical Sonography & Nuclear Medicine Admission Requirements

Admission to the diagnostic medical sonography and nuclear medicine programs are competitive. Students can be admitted one of two ways:

  • directly accepted as an incoming freshmen
  • non-direct accept: students who do not meet the admission criteria when applying as an incoming freshman will be non-directly accepted. Students will be able to pursue diagnostic medical sonography or nuclear medicine courses and then apply for entrance to the program.

Below are the admission requirements for the diagnostic medical sonography and nuclear medicine programs at Regis:

Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Students who are directly accepted into the diagnostic medical sonography major must:

  • Hold a cumulative recalculated GPA of 3.0 as an incoming freshman
  • Maintain the minimum requirements of the program at Regis (see qualifications for non-direct accept students)

Students who are non-directly accepted into the diagnostic medical sonography major and wish to apply for entrance to the program must:

  • Hold a minimum GPA of 2.7 at Regis
  • Not have any grades below a “C” in the prerequisite courses:
      • Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II, Chemistry 101, Physics, Psychology, Statistics
  • Interview with diagnostic medical sonography faculty. Interviews will occur in the fall semester of the sophomore year.

Nuclear Medicine

Students who are directly accepted into the nuclear medicine major must:

  • Hold a cumulative recalculated GPA of 3.0 as an incoming freshman
  • Maintain the minimum requirements of the program at Regis (see qualifications for non-direct accept students)

Students who are non-directly accepted into the Nuclear Medicine major and wish to apply for entrance to the program must:

  • Hold a minimum GPA of 2.7 at Regis
  • Not have any grades below a “C” in the prerequisite courses:
