Regis College has reached a pending agreement with Mount Ida College and the University of Massachusetts to continue the entire dental hygiene program, including the pre-dental hygiene program, the associate degree program and the bachelor degree program. The agreement is contingent on approval by the Board of Higher Education and the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). The agreement will provide critical educational continuity for all students currently enrolled in these programs at Mount Ida. In addition, Regis will enroll first-year students in a new pre-dental hygiene class for the fall 2018 semester.
“We are delighted to be able to continue these superb programs as part of Regis’ portfolio of health science programs,” said Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN, president of Regis College. “We are grateful to UMass for allowing us to use the Mount Ida campus facilities for the next academic year and we look forward to welcoming Mount Ida students, faculty and staff.”
Under the agreement, dental hygiene courses and clinics will continue on the Mount Ida campus for the 2018-19 academic year and the public dental clinic will continue to operate. Student housing will be provided by Regis, with shuttle service to classes. The pre-dental hygiene courses for first-year students will be offered on the main Regis campus. Beginning in the fall of 2019, the program will be operated entirely on the Regis College campus.
Current Mount Ida Dental Hygiene students, admitted Mount Ida Dental Hygiene students in the Class of 2022, and interested first-year students may contact Dean of Enrollment Laura Bertonazzi at email@example.com or 781.768.7060 for application and enrollment information.
Regis will also be hosting a Dental Hygiene Welcome Day on Wednesday, May 16 at the Regis campus for interested students and their families between 5-7 p.m. Campus tours will be offered every half hour and admission staff will be available to answer any questions.
