Financial aid decisions are made on an academic-year basis. Renewal of financial aid awards are contingent upon maintaining satisfactory academic progress, timely reapplication for financial aid each year, continued demonstration of financial need as determined in prior years, and continued availability of funding from all sources. In addition, any outstanding student account balance must be satisfied before a financial aid decision is made.

The priority filing date for renewing students is April 15. To receive full consideration for all types of financial aid, the Office of Financial Aid must receive all required documents by April 15.  Late applications will be accepted however financial aid is awarded to on time applicants first and funding cannot be guaranteed to late applications.

Steps to File

  1. Obtain a Federal Student Aid ID Number (FSAID) at   If you are a dependent student, one of your parents will also need to obtain an FSAID
  2.  Complete and submit the FAFSA on the web. You can use your FSAID to electronically sign your FAFSA on the Web and to make corrections to your application information
  3. If you are selected for Federal Verification, as indicated on your FAFSA response, additional documentation is required by law. Documentation may vary depending on items randomly selected for verification by the Central Processor. You must check with the Center for Student Services to determine what documentation is required. Awards will not  be made until all required material is received.
  4. You will be notified via email once your financial aid offer is available on Regis Access.

IRS Data Retrieval

You are strongly encouraged to use the FAFSA IRS data retrieval process, a faster way to provide tax information. Applicants can access the IRS Data Retrieval Tool two to three weeks after electronically filing federal tax returns (both parent and student). If you have already filed your FAFSA, please update your information once you and your parent’s tax returns have been filed.

Students and parents who do not or cannot use the IRS data retrieval process when filing a FAFSA, and have been selected for Verification will be required to provide a 2015 IRS tax return transcript. A tax transcript can be obtained through the IRS web site at:

  • Download Form 4506-T and return form to the IRS
  • Or by calling 1-800-908-9946.

Tax transcripts should not be sent to Regis College. Please have this form sent to you directly and then forward to Regis with the student name and ID number written across the top of the page.

Academic Requirements

Federal regulations and Regis College policy require that students meet the following minimum cumulative GPA requirements and complete at least two-thirds of all credits attempted with no incomplete (I) grades. Financial aid cannot be renewed for students who do not meet the minimum standards.

First Semester First Year: 1.75

Federal and State Aid

  • First Year Semester one: 1.75
