Research Interests

Dr. Beaulieu is interested in the assessment and treatment of problematic behavior and the identification of effective and socially acceptable teaching strategies that produce long-lasting effects with young children (children with or without diagnoses). She is particularly interested in working with children from impoverished environments; more specifically, identifying and teaching children skills that will enable them to succeed through their personal, academic, and professional life even when they are living in environments that support problematic behavior. Some of these skills include teaching children counter-modification skills, problem-solving skills, and peer mediation. She is also interested in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders with both typically and atypically developing individuals, improving volunteerism and sustainability of the environment, and evaluating methods to improve conversational skills and other skills related to maintaining healthy peer relationships with children and adults with and without diagnoses.
