Donna M. Norris, MD
Donna Marie Norris is a graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine and received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Fisk University. She is a consultant for Massachusetts probate and family courts and an examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Norris has appointments at Massachusetts Mental Health/Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Massachusetts Mental Health Center, and Children’s Hospital Medical Center. In addition, she is a mentor and clinical supervisor for residents at Children’s Hospital and Longwood Psychiatric Residency Training Program and a member of the faculty of the Program of Psychiatry and the Law at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center. Dr. Norris was the secretary-treasurer of the American Psychiatric Association, chair of the audit committee of Children’s Hospital Medical Center, a member of the board of directors for the Massachusetts Children’s Trust Fund, and a member of the Medical Malpractice Tribunal for the Middlesex County Superior Court. In addition, she was an assistant clinical professor and clinical instructor at Harvard University Medical School, and an adjunct faculty member in the Boston University School of Social Work. Her numerous presentations include a forensic psychiatrists web site study for the annual meeting of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. Dr. Norris has received the Special Presidential Commendation from the American Psychiatric Association, the Outstanding Psychiatrist Award for the Advancement of the Profession from the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society, the Special Lecture Award from the Psychiatric Services Annual Meeting in New Orleans, and the Women of Courage and Conviction Award from the National Council of Negro Women.
