Board of Trustees
The Regis College Board of Trustees manages the affairs of the Corporation. The authority of the Board of Trustees is affirmed through its general, academic and financial policy-making functions and its responsibility for the financial health and welfare of the Corporation. The Board of Trustees consists of between 16 and 36 members. Current members are:

Carole F. Barrett, JD
Attorney Barrett, Regis College class of 1963, received a law degree from St. John’s University School of Law. Attorney Barrett is senior counsel at Arnold & Porter LLP in San Francisco and focuses primarily on trademarks, copyrights, licensing, and intellectual property transactions.
Ernest Bartell, c.s.c, PhD (Emeritus)
Fr. Ernest Bartell received a doctorate in economics from Princeton University, a master’s in theology from Holy Cross College in Washington, D.C., a master’s in economics from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame. A former president of Stonehill College, he has been associate director of the Holy Cross Mission Center and Overseas Mission coordinator for the Priests of the Holy Cross. Previously, he was executive director of the Kellogg Institute, director of the Center for the Study of Man in Contemporary Society, and chair of the Economics Department at Notre Dame.
Marian Batho, CSJ
S. Marian, Regis College class of 1970, is currently Delegate for Religious in the Archdiocese of Boston. She was the President of the former Aquinas College in Newton, MA, where she was responsible for fundraising and the development of new programs.
Beverly W. Boorstein, JD
The Honorable Beverly Boorstein is a retired Justice of the Probate and Family Court. She received her bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and juris doctor from Boston University School of Law. Currently, she owns a Dispute Resolution practice in Newton, MA that focuses on mediation and arbitration for private disputes.
Meyer J. Chambers, MLM
Meyer J. Chambers is the Director of Liturgical Music at St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church in Boston and Campus Minister for Liturgical Arts at Boston College. He is founder of the Archdiocese of Boston's Black Choir and recipient of the archdiocese's Bishop Cheverus Medal and Bishop Augustine Healy Award for his work fostering educational opportunities and demonstrating faith and compassion. A native of New Orleans, Mr. Chambers is an accomplished musician and soloist and has traveled the world on the Archdiocese of Boston Black Catholic Choir Tour.
Kathleen Dawley
Mrs. Dawley, Regis College class of 1979, is a non-profit board member, writer, and consultant. She served as president of Maguire Associates for 17 years working with higher education boards, presidents, leadership councils, and departmental teams to plan and achieve their strategic and operational goals. A skilled listener, analyst, communicator, and organizational strategist, Mrs. Dawley is committed to advancing organizational goals by applying market-based research in highly effective programs across the university/college life cycle. She is a member of International Leadership Council of the Monterey Institute of International Studies (a graduate school of Middlebury College).
Maureen Doherty, CSJ
S. Maureen, Regis College class of 1968, received a master’s degree in education from Boston College. For 23 years, she served as a teacher or a principal in various schools in the Archdiocese of Boston. From 1984 to 1994, she was Principal of St. Raphael School, West Medford, MA and was President of the Archdiocesan Principals’ Association. S. Maureen currently serves as a trustee for Bethany Hill School, a Sponsored Ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston and as Chair of the Executive Board of CORT 1 (Conference of Regional Treasurers). She is also the Secretary of the Regis College Corporation.
Mary Anne Doyle, CSJ, PhD
S. Mary Anne, Regis College class of 1967, earned her doctorate from Ohio State University. She has taught at Regis College and directed its research center. Besides many roles teaching mathematics and physics, Sister helped the planning effort in the Catholic Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Boston. She currently is Business Manager at St. Julia’s Parish, Weston, and continues to teach college physics part-time.
Clyde H. Evans, PhD
Dr. Evans received a doctorate in physics and philosophy and master of science in physics from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in physics/electrical engineering from the University of Detroit. He conducted post-doctoral training as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow in the office of U.S. Senator Bill Frist, MD, as a scholar in academic administration and healthy policy at the Association of Academics Health Center, and as an Andrew Mellon Postdoctoral Research Fellow in physics and philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Evans is the president of CE Consulting and was vice president and also director of the American Network of Health Promoting Universities at the Association of Academic Health Centers, and was associate dean for clinical affairs and the director of the Office for Academic Careers at Harvard Medical School. He is currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees of at A. T. Still University of Health Sciences.
Reverend Monsignor Paul Garrity, MA, MDiv
Msgr. Garrity holds a master of arts degree in political science from Boston College, a master of divinity degree from St. John’s School of Theology, and a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s Seminary College in Boston. In 2011 Msgr. Garrity became pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Norwood, MA, after having served as pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Lynn, MA since 1992. During his time at St. Mary’s, enrollment at St. Mary’s Senior/Junior High School had expanded dramatically, elderly housing had been established, a $10 million campaign had been completed, and St. Mary’s Parish established ministries for those from Haiti and Congo. Msgr. Garrity is a member of the board of governors and of the executive committee of the Catholic Foundation of the Archdiocese of Boston, and a trustee of St. Therese House, Inc., two senior housing complexes on the St. Mary’s Parish campus. In 1998, Pope John Paul II named Msgr. Garrity a prelate of honor with the title very reverend monsignor. Msgr. Garrity has served on the board of trustees of Boston State College and on the joint consolidation committee of Boston State and the University of Massachusetts, Boston, serving as vice chair of the Massachusetts Board of Education, and as director of the Catholic Center at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
Michael J. Halloran, MBA
Mr. Halloran earned his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business in Palo Alto, CA and bachelor’s in economics and american studies from Princeton University. He began his career in finance at Salomon Brothers, Inc. in 1984. He later joined the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Alex. Brown & Sons in Baltimore. Mr. Halloran opened the European investment banking division for Alex. Brown as managing director, European head, based in London. He moved to Boston in 1998 and worked as global head of Technology Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank Alex Brown. Currently, he is on the board of trustees and treasurer at Parmenter Health Care, a non-profit in Wayland that provides visiting nurses services, rehabilitation care, palliative care, hospice care and community services for the metrowest area.
Antoinette M. Hays, PhD, RN
Dr. Hays received a doctorate from the Heller School at Brandeis University, a master’s degree from Boston University, and a bachelor’s degree from Boston College. Dr. Hays started her career at Regis College in 1985 as an adjunct professor. She has risen through the ranks to the Dean of the School of Nursing, Science and Health Professions and is now President of the College. Dr. Hays worked with faculty to expand the College by envisioning and providing myriad nursing and health profession programs including the dual track Health and Fitness program in Nutrition or Sport Management, the Public Health major, several different Master’s programs in nursing, the Master’s in Health Administration, the Doctorate of Nursing Practice and, most recently, the Master’s in Biomedical Science and Applied Behavioral Analysis. Dr. Hays is a member of many professional organizations, including Massachusetts Colleges of Nursing (MACN), Eastern Nurse Research Society; American Association for Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Program Committee, and serves on the boards of the Gifford School, Weston, MA; Parmenter Health VNA and Community Care, Wayland, MA; and Partners in Health. As Regis President, she is also a member of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Massachusetts (AICUM), the Association of Colleges of the Sisters of St. Joseph (ACSSJ), the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU), and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC).
Leila A. (Lee) Hogan, CSJ, PhD
Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees
S. Lee, Regis College class of 1961, received her master of arts degree in Political Science from Tufts and doctor of philosophy degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland. S. Lee completed the Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Management Institute certificate in 1991-92. She has filled many roles at Regis College from 1975-present, including Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Political Science Department and was Academic Dean at Regis between 1985 and 2001.
Karen Hokanson, SND, EdD
S. Karen is a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame. She received a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, a master’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts in Boston, and a bachelor of science in business education and social sciences from Boston University. She is an assistant professor at Emmanuel College. S. Karen served as the general chapter coordinator for the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in Rome from 1999-2002. She has been an administrator or teacher at Aquinas College in Milton, St. Clare High School in Roslindale, St. Gregory High School in Dorchester, and St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence. She is a member of the board of trustees at Trinity College in Washington, D.C., and the board of directors of Notre Dame Education Center in Boston. She has been a board member at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, and a member of the corporation at Notre Dame Academy in Worcester. Sister Karen is the recipient of the Outstanding Community Service Award from UMass Lowell; the Outstanding Educator Award, School of Education from Salem State College; the Alumnae Achievement Award from Aquinas College, and she is a member of the Alumni Hall of Fame at Whitman-Hanson High School.
Ellen C. Kearns, JD
Attorney Kearns, Regis College class of 1967, received a juris doctor degree from Boston College School of Law. She is Partner of Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLP in Boston, where she represents management in a full range of traditional labor and employment issues. She has received many awards and recognition including being named on the list of “Massachusetts Super Lawyers.” She served as the editor-in-chief of the BNA Treatise on The Fair Labor Standards and senior editor of its annual supplements. She is a contributing author to the BNA Treatise titled “Wage and Hour Law, A State-by-State Survey.” Ms. Kearns is the recipient of the Alumnae Achievement Award from Regis College, and the William J. Kenealy Alumna of the Year Award from Boston College School of Law.
Ruth Sanderson Kingsbury
Mrs. Kingsbury, Regis College class of 1957, has had a long and very rewarding career in volunteer work, mainly at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA, the Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, and the Pine Street Inn. While a student at Regis, Mrs. Kingsbury, affectionately known as “Spud,” was a member of the Basketball team and the Glee Club. Since graduating, she continues her role as Class Fund Agent and sponsors one Sharing Opportunities student at Regis.
Ann M. Lagasse, MBA
Ann M. Lagasse earned her MBA from Northeastern University in 1988 and her BA in Economics from Regis College in 1979. As co-founder and principal of Piper Properties Management Company for twenty years, Ms. Lagasse purchased, redeveloped and managed numerous downtown Newburyport historic mixed-use properties consisting of 300,000 square feet of retail, office, residential and commercial tenants, including three full service marinas and two restaurants. Subsequent to the sale of the portfolio in 2007, she served as Leasing Director for its buyer, New England Development, until 2012. Currently Ann is managing Boston’s Seaport marina projects and developing a North End (Boston) inn and a mega yacht marina. Ms. Lagasse is the recipient of four annual Historic Preservation Awards for Commercial Buildings from the City of Newburyport and organized the community effort to achieve two America in Bloom Community Champion national awards for the City of Newburyport. Ann received the Women of Influence Award from the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and was the Honoree at the Joslin Diabetes Center Evening at the Boston Pops. Since 2004 Ann has been a Trustee and Executive on the Clinic and Governance Committees of the Joslin Diabetes Center. She has chaired Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation Board since 2009 and served on the Anna Jaques Hospital Trustee and Building Committee since 2006. In addition, Ann served from 2006 to 2012 on the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce Board and Economic Development Committee. Ann is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, a national organization for leasing professionals.
Peter Langenus, JD
Spouse of Eileen McCormick, Regis College class of 1978, Mr. Langenus is a practicing lawyer at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP in New York. His focus is on litigation arising out of all aspects of the manufacture and sale of goods. He serves as national coordinating counsel for domestic and off-shore manufacturers. A former U.S. Army Reserve Colonel, Mr. Langenus is also a Trustee of the U.S. Army War College Foundation, Commander, Post 653 Veterans of Foreign Wars in New Canaan, CT and District Committee Member of the Boy Scouts of America in Fairfield County, CT.
Judy M. Lauch, MS
Mrs. Lauch, Regis College class of 1968, received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and mathematics and a master’s certificate in project management from George Washington University. She is the director of benefits and administration at the Community Builders Inc., a non-profit housing organization. Mrs. Lauch previously worked at IBM and Lotus Development Corporations. Additionally Mrs. Lauch volunteered as chief administrative officer at the YMCA in Dutchess County, N.Y., where she is past president of the board of directors. She co-chaired the Regis Annual Fund and has been a Regis fund agent, has volunteered at St. Joseph’s Parish in Boston, and has served in the Big Sister program. Mrs. Lauch was the recipient of the Regis Alumni Achievement Award in 1996.
Christina M. McCann, MAT
Mrs. McCann, Regis College class of 1960, received her master of arts degree in teaching at Brown University. She is the former director of philanthropy at the Hospice of the North Shore. Mrs. McCann has more than twenty-five years experience as a senior fundraising professional developing philanthropy programs for health care, academic, and social organizations. She had been a consultant for the Independent Fund Raising Counsel in Danvers and was director of development and community affairs at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem. Early in her career, she worked at Regis as director of Annual Giving and Alumnae Affairs. Mrs. McCann is a trustee and past advisory board member at St. Mary’s High School in Lynn and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2003. She is a past trustee at St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, past member of the board of directors at North Shore Catholic Charities, and past board member of the New England Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, which presented her its Showcase Award for Distinction in 1994.
Kathleen McCluskey, CSJ, PhD
S. Kathleen, Regis College class of 1971, received her Ph.D. from Brandeis. She is the Executive Director of the Transition Task Force for Saint Joseph Preparatory High School. She recently concluded a 10-year term as Executive Director of the US Federation of the Sisters of St. Joseph and formerly served as President of the Sisters of St. Joseph. She has served on Corporations and Boards of many CSJ sponsored ministries and has facilitated several communities of women religious in planning processes.
Teresa M. McGonagle, MS
Ms. McGonagle, Regis College class of 1981, received a graduate certificate in management from Radcliffe College, a master of science in finance from Boston College and a master of science in international finance and accounting from the London School of Economics. Currently a consultant for a number of non-profit organizations, she has held several managerial and executive positions in the investment field, including global practice leader at JP Morgan Chase and head of global product for Citigroup, both in New York City, and partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston. Prior to that, she was the director of strategic planning/financial planning at Fish and Richardson, and director of strategic planning at John Hancock Financial Services. Ms. McGonagle has served on the board of directors for the Regis College Alumnae Association and Greater Boston Catholic Charities. She is a trustee at Pope John XXIII High School in Everett, former trustee at the Catholic Central High Schools of the Archdiocese of Boston, former lecture faculty at the Boston College Graduate School of Management, co-chair of NICSA International Committee, and member of the board of the National Defined Contribution Council.
Peter Minihane, CPA
Mr. Minihane received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Bentley University. He has over 35 years of executive experience building and leading high-growth technology companies. He is currently CFO at Acme Packet in Bedford, MA. Previous positions include COO of Colubris Networks, a global provider of intelligent wireless local area networks for enterprises and service providers. He has also held leadership positions as StarBak Communications, Visual Networks, and Microcom.
Glenn Morris, AIA, IIDA
Mr. Morris is chairman of Morris Architects. He has served as a business leader in local, state, and national venues and has been a Chamber of Commerce president. He has served political campaigns from local to national in scope and was a member of the national finance committee for a former presidential candidate. He was the founder of the School of Interior Design at the Boston Architectural Center and currently serves on the Boards at St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, Grub Street Inc. and Newton at Home.
Donna M. Norris, MD
Chair of the Board
Dr. Norris is a graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine and received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Fisk University. She is a consultant for Massachusetts probate and family courts and an examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Norris has appointments at Massachusetts Mental Health/Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Massachusetts Mental Health Center, and Children’s Hospital Medical Center. In addition, she is a mentor and clinical supervisor for residents at Children’s Hospital and Longwood Psychiatric Residency Training Program and a member of the faculty of the Program of Psychiatry and the Law at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center. Her numerous presentations include a forensic psychiatrists’ Web site study for the annual meeting of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. Dr. Norris has received the Special Presidential Commendation from the American Psychiatric Association, the Outstanding Psychiatrist Award for the Advancement of the Profession from the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society, the Special Lecture Award from the Psychiatric Services Annual Meeting in New Orleans, and the Women of Courage and Conviction Award from the National Council of Negro Women.
Kathleen O’Hare
Ms. O’Hare, Regis College class of 1969, was a principal in the Enterprise Risk Services Group of Deloitte & Touche, LLP prior to her retirement in 2011. She was responsible for the delivery of risk management services to clients nationally – including technology risk and controls assessments. She has over 25 years of audit, technology, and operations experience. She returned to the firm after eight years in industry where she was a senior vice-president of a major New York bank. There she served in a number of capacities including internal IT audit director; division head in IT operations managing the technical and control groups of the data processing centers, and finally in charge of the international and corporate trust systems. In this last position she had responsibility for global technology deployment, as well as large domestic business applications such as stock transfer and letters of credit. Ms. O’Hare has had a broad range of experience in assessing internal control structures within operations and technology.
Mary T. Roche, CPA
Ms. Roche, Regis College class of 1978, has 35 years of experience in finance, particularly in auditing and development of business plans. She most recently worked as the VP of Finance for Analysis Group, an economic, financial and strategy consulting group, and as chief financial officer for Leerink Swann & Co, Inc., a healthcare investment bank. She has done audits for major organizations, such as Brown University, and guided companies to develop new business and refine their long-term business plans.
Joan Shea, MBA
Mrs. Shea received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. She is the former president of Shea Solutions, Inc. a professional services firm providing strategic and managerial consulting to public and non-profit industries. Mrs. Shea brings to Regis College a wealth of knowledge of financial, management and human resources systems having worked in both the private and public sectors throughout her career. She is a deputy comptroller for the state of Massachusetts and an adjunct professor at Suffolk University.
Jane Tedder, Ed.D
Dr. Tedder, Regis College class of 1966, received her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts. In 2006 she retired as education program officer for the CT Center for School Change where she inaugurated leadership development programs and education policy planning and research units. From 1989 to 2001 she served as executive director of Education Connection, a regional educational service center in western CT. She currently consults with educational and not-for-profit organizations in areas of leadership development, organizational improvement, and planning. She is active as an executive coach to non-profit CEOs. Additionally, she leads training sessions on board development, staff and board relations, and leadership in the non-profit sector. She served on the Regis Alumni Fund Executive Board and the strategic planning committee and received the Alumnae Loyalty Award in 2006.
John J. Tegan, Jr., MEd
Mr. Tegan received his master's in education from Salem State College and bachelor of arts in English at Suffolk University. He is founder and chairman of Communications Technology Services, LLC, a company that designs and installs voice and data systems in the commercial, government and education markets. Prior to this, he was in sales management at Digital Equipment Corporation. He also taught and was director of the reading program for the Revere, MA Public Schools. Mr. Tegan is a pastoral visitor at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston and a member of the Finance Committee at the Paulist Center in Boston.
Richard W. Young, PhD (Emeritus)
Dr. Young received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Dartmouth College and a master’s and doctorate from Columbia University. During a 20-year career at Polaroid Corporation, he served in several executive positions, including senior vice president for research and development. He has been president of Houghton-Mifflin Company; chairman and CEO of Mentor Ophthalmics, Inc.; and director of Bay State Milling Company, of Quincy, Mentor Corporation, of Santa Barbara, California, and Instron Corporation of Canton. He holds more than fifty patents of photographic and pharmaceutical products, and is the inventor of Neptazane, the first drug designed for treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Young has been a trustee of Trinitas Foundation; the International Chamber of Commerce; the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole; and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He chaired the Advisory Council of the International Business Center of New England and has been a member of the Presidential Commission on Executive, Legislative and Judicial Salaries and the Northeastern University Corporation.
