Frequently Asked Advising Questions of a Transfer Student
What types of general education requirements do I have to complete?
At Regis the general education requirements are called the Core. During your first advising appointment you will review which approved transfer courses have satisfied Core requirements with the Office of Academic Advising.
I would like to review the requirements for my major before meeting with an advisor, how can I do that?
Review all requirements for your major here.
How do I get assigned an academic advisor and when will I meet them?
Transfer students will meet with the Office of Academic Advising to make their first semester course schedule. After this meeting, when the major of interest has been confirmed, the Director of Academic Advising assigns an advisor. Faculty Advisors are usually assigned within the students chosen major. New students will meet their academic advisor within the first couple of weeks of their first semester at Regis.
How do I get my Regis e-mail and log-in information for on-line resources?
When you come to orientation you will meet with ITS and review all technology related information, including how to log into the Regis on-line resources. Additional information can be found here.
Are there any social opportunities specifically for transfer students?
Yes! At the beginning of each semester the Office of Admission and the Office of Academic Advising collaborate to organize a welcome reception for new and returning transfer students. This allows staff to reconnect with each student to help them get adjusted to the start of the semester while also allowing fellow transfer students to mingle.
