Sustaining Grants logoThrough a generous donation from the Cummings Foundation’s Sustaining Grant program, the Regis Nursing Resource Center (NRC) is a supportive environment for students to practice and learn before embarking on clinical courses, master competencies, and the nursing profession. The center is a welcoming space for nursing students to study, participate in faculty-led group tutoring, and implement the tools they need to help them transition successfully into professional practice as registered nurses.

The center is accessible 24/7 through a keypad access and provides the following:

  • evidence-based literature and technology that aid nursing students studying independently;
  • a point to embark on clinical courses and master competencies of the nursing profession;
  • individual work stations, computers and areas for group work;
  • enhanced tutoring with clinical nurse experts;
  • live-stream simulations scenarios in a separate debriefing room.

The center cultivates a peer-leadership climate in which selected students in upper-level nursing courses are taught the skills necessary to mentor other students. A nursing faculty coordinator oversees the center’s day-to-day operations to ensure that this faculty-led initiative achieves the goal of excellent nursing education in our students, enabling them to enter their careers in health care with a confident and well-informed perspective.
