Jstor is a not-for-profit organization with a dual mission to create and maintain a trusted archive of important scholarly journals, and to provide access to these journals as widely as possible. Jstor does have some current issues of a few selected journals. Otherwise, because it’s main mission is archival in nature, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in Jstor (called the “moving wall”).

MLA International Bibliography/Directory of Periodicals
MLA International Bibliography offers a detailed bibliography of journals articles, books and dissertations. It dates back to the 1920's and contains over 2.2 million citations from more than 4,400 journals and series and 1,000 book publishers. The MLA Directory of Periodicals offers detailed information on over 5,500 journals, with 4,400 currently indexed in the International Bibliography.
