Program information & curriculum:  

MGHIHP Reading Concentration is fulfilled through successful completion of the following courses (18 credits):

Language Acquisition (3 cr)                                                                 
Development & Disorders of Oral Language, Reading, Writing (3 cr)
Diagnostic Methods (3 cr)
Reading & Writing in the Schools (2 cr)
Leading Literacy Change (1 cr)
School-Based Practicum  (3 cr)
Multisensory Structured Reading and Clinic Practicum (3 cr)


Regis College MAT Degree Program is fulfilled through successful completion of the following courses (18 credits):

Developmental Issues & Learning in Students with Special Needs (3 cr)     
Curriculum Adaptations/Differentiated Learning (3 cr)                                    
Teaching English Language Learners (3 cr)                                                 
Children’s Literature (3 cr)                                                                            
Classroom Management in Inclusive Classroom (3 cr)                                  
Research Seminar/Elective (3 cr)                                                      

Program total:                                                                                          36 credits

Courses may be taken concurrently through Regis and MGH IHP during a semester.
Registration for MGH IHP courses must be completed through MGH IHP; Regis courses through Regis.

ED 519 Curriculum Adaptations/Special Needs - M: 4:30-7:00 p.m.

MGH Institute of Health Professions:
CD 822 Language Acquisition - Th: 5:00-8:00 p.m.
CD 824 Diagnostic Methods in Reading/Writing - T: 5:00-8:00 p.m.


Admission Requirements:

In addition to completing the Regis College Graduate Application Form for Admission, students must submit:

· Transcript indicating successful completion of bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or 
  university
· Massachusetts Dept of Ed Initial Teaching Certificate/License no. with area of certification &
  expiration date
· GRE or Miller Analogy Test* 
· $50 application fee
· Two letters of recommendation
· A personal essay indicating reasons for pursuing licensure and/or degree
· Current Resume
· Personal interview with the Graduate Program Director is strongly recommended

*This requirement may be waived by receiving a grade of B or better in the first two courses within the program.  If entering Regis program after completing MGH licensure portion, GRE requirement is automatically waived.

Admission is offered on a rolling basis. Decisions are issued to applicants typically within 2-4 weeks after application is complete.
