Psychology is an exciting discipline that studies human behavior from a variety of perspectives, from the biological bases of behavior to the sociocultural influences on behavior.
Depending on the student's interests, the psychology major can be enriched with courses in the natural sciences, the social sciences, or the humanities. Some of our students have pursued double majors and minors in subjects as varied as theatre, English, communications, sociology, social work, biology, and nursing. Others have majored in psychology while completing the requirements to teach at the elementary school level.
Recently, our students have completed internships in schools and psychiatric facilities. Upon graduation, many have entered graduate school or worked in a variety of mental health facilities, while some have launched careers in education, research, and business. All leave Regis with the ability to research and critically analyze information, to think creatively, to present their ideas persuasively in both written and oral formats, and to work collaboratively with others.
Would you like to learn more about human behavior in all its richness and complexity? To take challenging courses with supportive faculty? To pursue a major that is related to the natural sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities? If so, then psychology may be the major for you.
