Accreditation and State Regulatory Authorizations

Accreditation

Regis College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges a voluntary, nongovernmental, peer-based membership association dedicated to promoting standards of excellence and improvement in higher education.

Programmatic Accreditation

  • The Elementary, Moderate Special Needs, and Secondary Education Programs have been approved for Interstate Certification and meet the standards of the Interstate Certification Compact/National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification.
  • The Social Work Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  • The Nursing Programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326; 404-975-5000), with the exception of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, which is currently in candidate status for ACEN accreditation and approved by the Board of Higher Education.
  • The Medical Radiography program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT, 20 N. Wacker Street, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60606-3282; 312-704-5300).
  • The Nuclear Medicine Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT, 2000 W. Danforth Rd., Suite 130, #203 Edmond, OK 73003; 405-285-0546).

Massachusetts

Regis College is authorized by the Massachusetts Secretary of State, One Ashburton Place Room 1401, Boston, MA 02108

Alaska

Online programs offered by Regis College are exempt from authorization in Alaska under AS 14.48 and 20 AAC 17.

Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (BSN option), and Post Master’s Certificate in Nursing programs: Prospective students residing in Alaska are excluded from enrolling in these online nursing programs.

Arizona

Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education.

California

Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education.

Colorado

Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.

Connecticut

Regis College is registered with the Connecticut Office of Higher Education to offer online courses and programs to residents of Connecticut.

Delaware

Regis College is licensed by the Delaware Department of Education to offer online programs to residents of the state.

Florida

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Florida, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Florida Commission for Independent Education.

Guam

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Guam, Regis College is not required to obtain approval for the Guam Council on Postsecondary Institution Certification to offer its online programs to residents.

Hawaii

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Hawaii, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Hawaii Postsecondary Education Authorization Program.

Idaho

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Idaho, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Idaho State Board of Education.

Illinois

Regis College has approval from the Illinois Board of Higher Education to offer online courses and programs to residents of Illinois.

Master of Arts in Counseling: Prospective students residing in Illinois are excluded from enrolling in this online program.

Indiana

This institution is authorized by the Indiana Board for Proprietary Education, 101 W. Ohio St. Suite 670, Indianapolis, IN 46204-1984.

Indiana students who voluntarily withdraw from all courses will receive a tuition refund as follows: prior to start, 0% of term = 100% refund; less than 10% of term = 90% refund; 10% up to but not including 25% = 75% refund; 25% up to but not including 50% = 50% refund; 50% up to but not including 75% = 25% refund; more than 75% = no refund. Regis College will make a proper refund, within thirty-one (31) days of the student's request for cancellation. If the student has paid tuition extending beyond twelve (12) months all such charges shall be refunded.

Kansas

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Kansas, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Kansas Board of Regents.

Master of Arts in Counseling: Prospective students residing in Kansas are excluded from enrolling in this online program.

Kentucky

Regis College is authorized by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education to offer its online programs to residents of the state.

Master of Arts in Counseling: Prospective students residing in Kentucky are excluded from enrolling in this online program.

Louisiana

Regis College is currently licensed by the Board of Regents of the State of Louisiana. Licenses are renewed by the State Board of Regents every two years. Licensed institutions have met minimal operational standards set forth by the state, but licensure does not constitute accreditation, guarantee the transferability of credit, nor signify that programs are certifiable by any professional agency or organization.

Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (BSN option), and Post Master’s Certificate in Nursing programs: Prospective students residing in Louisiana are excluded from enrolling in these online nursing programs.

Master of Arts in Counseling: Prospective students residing in Louisiana are excluded from enrolling in this online program.

Maine

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Maine, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Maine Department of Education.

Master of Arts in Counseling: Prospective students residing in Maine are excluded from enrolling in this online program.

Maryland

Regis College has authorization from the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

Master of Arts in Counseling: Prospective students residing in Maryland are excluded from enrolling in this online program.

Mississippi

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Mississippi, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation.

Michigan

Regis College is licensed by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs of the state of Michigan to offering its online programs to residents of the state.

Missouri

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Missouri, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Missouri Department of Higher Education.

Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (BSN option), and Post Master’s Certificate in Nursing programs: Prospective students residing in Missouri are excluded from enrolling in these online nursing programs.

Montana

Regis College has authorization from the Montana Board of Regents.

Nebraska

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Nebraska, the University is not required to obtain authorization from the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education.

New Hampshire

Because Regis University does not have a physical presence in New Hampshire, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the New Hampshire Department of Education, Division of Higher Education.

New Jersey

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in New Jersey, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education.

North Dakota

Regis College is exempt from the North Dakota University System.

Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (BSN option), and Post Master’s Certificate in Nursing programs: Prospective students residing in North Dakota are excluded from enrolling in these online nursing programs.

Oklahoma

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Oklahoma, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

Pennsylvania

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Pennsylvania, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Pennsylvania Department of Education – Division of Higher and Career Education.

South Carolina

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in South Carolina, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.

South Dakota

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in South Dakota, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the South Dakota Secretary of State – Postsecondary Education.

Tennessee

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Tennessee, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission.

All Nursing programs: Prospective students residing in Tennessee are excluded from enrolling in the online nursing programs.

Utah

Regis College has authorization from the Utah Division of Consumer Protection to offer online courses and programs to residents of Utah.

Master of Arts in Counseling: Prospective students residing in Utah are excluded from enrolling in this online program.

Vermont

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Vermont, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the Vermont Agency of Education.

Virgin Islands

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Regis College is not required to obtain approval from the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Education.

Virginia

Because Regis College does not have a physical presence in Virginia, Regis College is not required to obtain authorization from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.

West Virginia

Regis College has authorization from the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission to offer online courses and programs to residents of West Virginia.

Master of Arts in Counseling: Prospective students residing in West Virginia are excluded from enrolling in this online program.

Wyoming

Regis College has authorization from the Wyoming Department of Education to offer online courses and programs to residents of Wyoming.

All Nursing programs: Prospective students residing in Wyoming are excluded from enrolling in the online nursing programs.
