Field Work Coordinator
Christine McKenna is the field work coordinator for the social work program at Regis College. She also teaches research methods, social policy, introduction to social services, and senior seminar. She started working at Regis in fall 2003.
Currently, Christine is writing her dissertation to complete the social science Ph.D. program at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Her topic is the development of federal policy for afterschool programs in the U.S. She earned her master's in social work from Saint Louis University in 1995 and bachelor of arts from Bates College with a major in religion and a minor in Spanish in 1991.
Christine started her social work career as a Jesuit volunteer running a parish social services office in Texas. Since then, she has worked as part of a number of different organizations, including a battered women's shelter, a small child welfare research firm, a statewide anti-poverty advocacy group, and the United Way. Her interests outside of school include hiking, geocaching, swing dancing, and yoga.
