Background
Dr. Mostashari has conducted archival research in the former Soviet Union and has written extensively on the subject of Russian expansion in the Caucasus. A former post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University's Center for Middle Eastern Studies, she is also a faculty associate at the Davis Center for Russian Studies. Her book On the Religious Frontier: Tsarist Russia and Islam in the Caucasus was published in 2006.

Dr. Mostashari joined the Regis College faculty in 1998.
