Research Interests
Since I graduated from the Ph.D. program at Brown University (where I received a solid training in basic science), I have focused my research on neurodegenerative diseases. Specifically, I am interested in combining the study of the phenomenon of oxidative stress and neural-glial cell interactions to elucidate the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and stroke.
I am interested in applying information about pathogenesis of these diseases to finding targets that could be used to develop drugs. My experience in the field of such neurodegenerative diseases as stroke (at CereMedix), adrenoleukodystrophy (in France) and Alzheimer's disease (at Simmons College) has provided me with a big picture of events common to all these diseases.
