March 25, 2009

MedOptions and Regis College will be hosting the College’s annual preceptor dinner on Thursday, April 2, 2009 to honor the graduating nurse practitioner students and the clinicians who were preceptors for the students throughout the year. This year’s speakers are Robert Schreiber, MD, Physician-in-Chief of Hebrew SeniorLife and Lucia Catalano, APRN, founder of MedOptions. In their presentation, “The CrossRoads of Mind and Body: A New Approach to Health Care Delivery for Older Adults,” Dr. Schreiber and Lucia will discuss the positive patient outcomes associated with integrating the medical and psychological aspects of treating the geriatric patient.

MedOptions provides behavioral health services to residents of 400 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities throughout Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts and Rhode Island through an interdisciplinary team of 200 clinicians. Dean Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN comments that “these practice partnerships are critical to the success of our program. We welcome the opportunity to work with MedOptions.”
