Regis Job Fair a Great Success

March 24, 2013

WESTON, MA. As greater Boston gears up for numerous commencements and thousands of graduates looking for jobs, Regis College held its Connections 2013 Jobs Fair in the College Hall Foyer on the evening of March 20 with resounding success. Ten employers and fifty students participated in the “meet and greet.”

Regis senior Andrew Blanchette said, “I walked in not knowing what to expect, and left with wise advice, great contacts and confidence about my future career.”

Susan Kennedy, Director of Internships and Career Development at Regis, noted that “the feedback from the various vendors was stellar. The words ‘wow’ or ‘stunning’ were used more than once. One recruiter mentioned that he goes to other schools all the time but that ‘something was missing, and that missing ingredient was here at Regis.’”

A representative of The Home for the Little Wanderers did not realize that Regis offered the Bachelor of Social Work degree. He observed that the liberal arts foundation and multi-cultural and multi-lingual talents of the upcoming Regis grads were exactly what the demographics of the marketplace were calling for.

Participating employers were Senior Helpers of Westford and Marlborough, City Year, Home for Little Wanderers, The Parris Company, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Bavada Pediatrics, the U. S. Army Reserve, Liberty Mutual, Zales, and Wellesley Financial Group. Microsoft Corporation had previously recruited and hired several Regis students earlier this year, as did Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. The small university is especially well known for its award-winning nursing programs.
