Important Message Regarding Incident on CampusSeptember 24, 2010
A serious incident occurred early this morning in a parking lot on the Regis campus. No Regis student was injured.
Our prayers are with the families of the two young men involved in the incident.
Our focus right now is on our students. An all campus meeting was held this morning to brief the Regis College community, and we are steadily in conversation with students, as are student life staff, faculty members, and trauma counselors. Additionally, there will be twenty-four hour police presence in our resident halls.
We assure parents and friends of Regis, as well as the larger community, that this is a most unusual incident on our campus and that campus security is strong.
Classes today are cancelled.
We are cooperating with the Weston police, Massachusetts State Police, and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office as they investigate and actively search for the perpetrators.
Media inquiries should be directed to the Office of Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone at 781-897-8325.
