It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that late this afternoon Regis College suffered the loss of Michael Kaplan ’13 and serious injury to Peter Leighton ’15 as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Father Paul Kilroy and Sister Betsy Conway, CSJ, went immediately to the hospital.

The college community gathered today at 5 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center (FAC) to support one another and to pray for Michael.

Dean Kolomitz and I are in touch with Michael’s and Peter’s families. Please pray for Michael as he makes his journey to God and pray for Peter’s recovery. We hold their parents and families in our hearts.

As further details become known, I shall inform our community.
