University’s Let It Shine Gala Raises Over $1 Million in Scholarship Funds for Regis Students

Century Bank Founder and Chairman Marhsall Sloane honored with Shining Example Award

Gala 2017 - Hays & KanebOver $1 million was raised in scholarship funds for Regis students at the university’s Let It Shine gala at the Boston Park Plaza on Tuesday night. More than 300 people gathered to honor Century Bank founder and chairman Marshall M. Sloane with the Shining Example Award for his lifetime of charitable work throughout the Greater Boston area.

Gala 2017 - Hays & Sloane“We are once again honored by the tremendous generosity of our alumni and dedicated supporters who believe in the mission of our great university to provide the education critical to the success of young people today,” said Regis President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN. “Marshall is a leading example of the type of support we are grateful to receive every day, and through his generosity, he has made a difference in the lives of thousands of young people.”

The Archdiocese of Boston Black Catholic Choir and Regis Gospel Choir joined in song to open the evening’s program.

Gala 2017 Tippett & ConnorsJack Connors returned as auctioneer and Kelley Tuthill, VP of Marketing and Communications at Regis, emceed. Patriots Hall of Famer Andre Tippett helped Connors auction Patriots tickets and signed Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski jerseys. Renowned sculptor Nancy Schon created an original piece of art that was presented to Mr. Sloane by Regis President Antoinette Hays and John Tegan, chair of Regis Trustees and chairman of Communication Technology Services.
