Regis Names Leading Boston Entrepreneur to Board of TrusteesNovember 27, 2017
Regis, a leading Catholic university in Greater Boston, has named MassChallenge President Michael LaRhette, MEd, to its Board of Trustees.
MassChallenge is a non-profit startup accelerator with a focus on high-impact, early-stage entrepreneurs. LaRhette is responsible for leading the expansion of MassChallenge’s mission and impact on a global scale. This includes opening new global locations, leading the talent and marketing strategy for the organization, and creating sustainable revenue models to support its rapid growth.
Prior to MassChallenge, LaRhette was principal at Collective Next, a private collaborative design and innovation consultant. His previous experience includes senior leadership positions in business development, human resources, and training at Korn Ferry, Symantec, and Sapient Corporation.
He has spoken extensively at forums around the world on accelerating innovation through entrepreneurship. His volunteer work includes teaching at an inner-city high school in Kingston, Jamaica.
“Michael’s extensive background in innovation will keep Regis on the cutting edge for the future,” said Regis President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN. “His vision aligns with our university’s mission of empowering our students to do great things. He is a welcome addition to our board.”
“I am thrilled to join such a world class, impact driven institution in Regis,” said LaRhette. “It is clear that both the administration and faculty are building on the legacy of academics, service and leadership towards a strong, connected, and innovative future.”
LaRhette, a Boston native, received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 1991 and Master of Education degree from Boston University in 1994. He lives in Hingham with his wife and two sons.
