Regis Children’s Center Gets Top HonorsDecember 20, 2016
Regis, a leading Catholic university in Greater Boston, is pleased to announce the Regis Children’s Center has been selected as the 2017 Program of the Year by the National Coalition for Campus Children’s Centers (NCCCC).
The Program of the Year is awarded to a campus-affiliated program that does outstanding work on behalf of students, children, families, faculty and staff. It highlights a program’s uniqueness and recognizes the fine leadership of directors and administrators. The NCCCC Awards and Grants committee lauded Regis’ program as an outstanding example of how a campus program re-invented itself and introduced innovative programming, such as STEM- based learning.
“I am thrilled that the Children’s Center is being honored by a national organization for its creative work and integration into the Regis campus life,” said Regis President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN. “It’s a testament to the terrific work of Center Director Rebecca Putnam and wonderful teaching staff who rose to the challenge to create a spectacular learning environment for our youngest students and our college students.”
“Our Awards and Grants committee was impressed with Regis’ application and we are thrilled to be able to award them with this top honor,” said Beth Hatcher, chair of the NCCCC committee.
The Children’s Center’s compelling story of renewal was recently highlighted in the winter 2016 edition of Wellesley Weston Magazine for providing “truly unique, holistic childcare and education services.” The article can be read here.
The Regis Children’s Center will be honored at the 2017 NCCCC annual conference in Long Beach, California on March 24-26, 2017.
