Experience

Joni Beshansky is an associate professor and the director of the graduate program in Regulatory and Clinical Research Management at Regis College. Prior to joining Regis, she was the associate director of the Center for Cardiovascular Health Services Research in the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies at Tufts Medical Center and an associate professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, a faculty position she continues to maintain. She is recognized nationally and considered an accomplished scientist and clinical operations leader with extensive experience developing, designing and executing complex strategies resulting in successful completion of major healthcare research initiatives and clinical trials. She was the co-founder and associate director of a master’s and PhD program in Clinical Translational Science at the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University, and was the mentor for numerous pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows and faculty.

Dr. Beshansky is particularly known as a lead investigator for a series of multicenter national and local Massachusetts studies focused on factors influencing and improving emergency cardiac care, supported by over 60 million dollars in federal grants. Most recently she was the co-principal investigator and project director of the NIH National Heart, Lung, and Blood-sponsored national IMMEDIATE Trial of the use of intravenous GIK (glucose, insulin and potassium) delivered by paramedics in the community to reduce mortality from acute coronary syndromes and infarction. She has presented nationally and is an author on more than 60 publications, the most recent of which are listed below.
