We know that the transfer process can be very different for each applicant, and can bring about certain hurdles that may differ from the traditional first-year application. The Regis College Office of Admission is fully committed to assisting you and ensuring a smooth transition to Regis!

THE TRANSFER PROCESS

Regis College enrolls students from a number of two- and four-year colleges. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and once your application is complete, you can expect a decision within two to three weeks.

A maximum of two years of full-time study or twenty courses taken at other accredited colleges or universities may be accepted for transfer credit. Course credit evaluations are sent shortly after the letter of acceptance, informing students of their entering class status.

NURSING TRANSFER POLICY AND INFORMATION

Regis College’s policy for transfer students entering the nursing major requires a transfer student to complete a semester of residency (a.k.a. one semester of courses) at Regis College prior to being accepted into the nursing major. With the residency requirement completed, you will join all other students in competing for admission into the Regis nursing program. Review of all applicants to the nursing major occurs at the conclusion of each fall term, at which time Regis will admit a designated number of qualified students.

The decision will be based primarily on the student’s grade-point average to date, with particular attention to the quality of performance in “Introduction to Nursing” and in prerequisite Regis science and math courses. Those who meet the basic criteria for program admission, but who do not gain entry may elect to be waitlisted and be considered if an opening becomes available*. These candidates will be considered as before, against all candidates; therefore, program admission is not guaranteed. A student denied admission to nursing may continue in another academic major so long as he or she remains in good academic standing and meets the qualifications of that academic major.

*Transfer students that meet certain qualifications may be directly accepted into nursing. Please speak with your admission counselor for details.

General science classes that will transfer towards Nursing Major credit:

  • Anatomy & Physiology  I, II
  • Chemistry
  • Micro- Biology

Recommended summer courses:

  • Language (specifically Spanish in Health Profession)
  • Statistics
  • Any elective

* Intro to Nursing generally WILL NOT transfer

No class with a grade below a C will transfer

REACTIVATING YOUR PREVIOUS ADMISSION APPLICATION

Students wishing to reactivate their application for undergraduate admission to Regis College must complete and return an Application Reactivation Form to the Office of Admission. Regis College will reactivate a student's file within two years of its original date of submission. In addition to completing this form, we may require additional documentation in order to render an admission decision. If additional information is required, an admission representative will contact you. Submission of this form does not guarantee re-admission, since a full review of your file must take place.

Please contact the Office of Admission with any questions. We can be reached at 1.866.438.7344 or by email at admission@regiscollege.edu. We are here to assist you and look forward to welcoming you to the Regis community!
