Julie Plant
Head Women's Basketball Coach
Coach Julie Plant was appointed head women's basketball coach at Regis College in August 2005. She also serves as a lecturer in the Athletic Department.
Prior to her appointment at Regis, Coach Plant spent one year as assistant coach of the Glendale Community College women's basketball program in Glendale, Ariz., and served as a WNBA advance scout for the New York Liberty.
Coach Plant's experience also includes the following:
- Girls' varsity basketball coach at Bourgade Catholic High School in Phoenix, where she was also a physical education and health teacher (2003-2005)
- Assistant coach of the women's program at the University of Rhode Island (2002-03)
- Graduate assistant coach at Elmira College, where she earned her M.S. in general education (2000-01)
Coach Plant is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine in Gorham, Maine, where she competed at the college level from 1996-2000. Her team was an NCAA Div. III national finalist in 1998 and 2000. She was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006, commemorating her tremendous collegiate playing career.
Alexis Riseman
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Coach Plant’s top assistant is former Roanoke College standout guard Alexis Riseman. Riseman arrived with Coach Plant in August, 2005.
A starter at point guard for the Maroons from 1995-1999, Alexis helped lead her team to three ODAC conference titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances. Alexis has used her knowledge and experience at the guard position in coaching standout players, including CCC 2007 Rookie of the Year Jessica Page and multiple-time CCC Rookie of the Week Laura Sears.
Alexis main responsibilities include; advance scouting, recruiting, perimeter instruction and the director of the teams strength and conditioning program.
Alexis resides in Watertown, Mass. and works full time as a Master Level Personal Trainer at the Boston Sports Club in Waltham, Mass.
Rob Johnson
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Coach Johnson entered his first season with the Regis College Women’s Basketball Program in October, 2007. Prior to arriving at Regis, Johnson had five years experience in coaching at the High School level in his home state of Connecticut.
Rob’s main responsibilities include; advance scouting, film breakdown, film exchange, travel coordinator, supervisor of managers, recruiting and post instruction.
Rob graduated from Worcester State College in 1994. He resides in Lisbon, CT with his wife Kate and his son Nathan.
