Political science touches all our lives, as responsible citizens of the world, future leaders in our communities, and reflective individuals seeking to discover our own values.
The political science program at Regis College is dedicated to encouraging every major to achieve the following goals:
- To become a critical thinker, learning to gather information and the tools of good decision making
- To discover one's own political values and beliefs through introspective thought as well as interaction with other majors and the faculty
- To learn the skills necessary to pursue a career in political life
We strongly encourage political science majors to take advantage of internships and other off-campus opportunities. The experience gained through these endeavors enhances students' readiness for future employment and graduate studies.
Recent students in the political science program have held internships at the Press Office of the Governor, Boston City Council, Federal District Court, offices of various senators and representatives, office of Consumer Affairs, and local offices of foreign embassies.
